Hello fellow server members! I'm excited to finally announce that Hardcore will be receiving a complete overhaul next week. This will update HC from version 10.2 to 11.0. The change will happen on July 18th, at 2am UTC, Sunday morning. (That's 10pm EST on the 17th). The amount of time it will take to make the change is variable, but I estimate that it will not last more than a few hours. For the time that the maintenance is being done, all non-staff players will be unable to join the server.

What can you expect in the new Hardcore? Well, lots of new things! Our new design comes with a lot of completely original content, custom made for Hardcore. It was also designed with the intent of having a better overall experience - it should hopefully be more fun than the current HC. That being said, do not expect it to be any easier. It will likely be more difficult and time consuming than the current HC, placing more emphasis on problem solving and exploration. For players who struggle with parkour, there will be a special route that you can take that allows you to bypass most of the parkour maps in Hardcore, with the exception of a few maps. More information on the design will be available after the maintenance is done. The total required map count is 16 maps, which is two more than the current iteration, which has 14.

Additionally, you can expect to have some fun new features unlocked for the Blue rank for reaching certain milestones in Hardcore. This is to reward players for making progress, and encourage them to get through Hardcore.

Your HC position will be automatically updated to an equivalent spot in the new HC version when maintenance is finished.
If you lose your spot due to a bug, you may post a reply to this thread or message one of the staff through the server or Discord. You will have 1 month to reclaim your spot if it is lost - if you wait longer than that and lost your checkpoint, you will be required to restart.

Finally, thank you to all the Green members who helped design the new Hardcore! This has been one of the largest community efforts we've undertaken, and we hope that the new design will breathe some more life into the server. Our best efforts have gone into balancing the map set so that players of any skill level can make it through.

Maintenance is finished! Hardcore has been updated to v11.0, the design of which can be seen above.

This new hardcore introduces two brand new sections in the form of the "Choice" and "Endurance". The choice section is designed to replace our old paths structure, which lets you choose 3 maps to complete out of a pool of 4 maps. There is one each of parkour, maze, puzzle and adventure. The endurance section is a sprint of 3 maps that you must complete without a checkpoint in between them. These maps are primarily parkour, and you have the choice between two maps on the 2nd step, and three maps on the 3rd step. Because the parkour in this section can be rather tough for some people, we opted to add a "Bypass" route, which allows players to skip past this endurance section by completing The Magic Tower, which is a black puzzle map.

The maps in this HC are mostly created from within the last year or so, including a grand total of 9 new maps made specifically for Hardcore. We hope that you enjoy yourselves playing through this brand new experience we've handcrafted for you! It is estimated that this will be one of the hardest challenges yet, but it will also be one of the most fun and good looking.

We'd like to thank all the staff members who helped out and especially the green players who built the new maps for this rotation!

Note: Entering some maps from the HC boxes will give you a "Checkpoint is disabled" message. This is fine - your checkpoint will be set from inside the box. If you are ever worried that your checkpoint wasn't set, do /c cp to see where your Hardcore checkpoint is.

If you think you lost your Hardcore checkpoint, first check by doing /c hc and /c cp and seeing what it says, and if it seems that you have lost it then post a message below and we will investigate for you. You have until August 18 (1 month) to reclaim a lost checkpoint if this happens.
