Not to long ago I made mention of story games we used to do on another forum when I was younger, and I was feeling a bit nostalgic on them and how fun I found them. I was feeling curious if anyone else had any interest. You can actually find the ones I participated in here: http://www.mysthillarium.com/ (Please don't judge my contributions too harshly, I was one of the youngest members of the community :p).

Basically, someone comes up with the general premise of the adventure and everyone gets a chance to role play their forum selves through the adventure. Because these were so popular at the MYST Hangout, some guidelines were developed to make sure everything went smoothly:
  • When contributing, first post saying "Posting" and then edit that post to make sure someone doesn't jump in on you while you're typing
  • If your "posting" post sits for too long (for the MYSTHillariums, we generally agreed on a 1 hour cap), you forfeit your posting spot
  • Don't do anything that would be an instant solution to the problem (I made that mistake my first go around)
  • It is okay to have other people do things in your post, just keep it friendly

Would anyone be interested in giving this a go?

I judge from the lack of serious replies so far that people are not interested...

From my experiences, a smaller number of participants leads to failure of the game because it starts dragging along as people get burnt out creatively or can't think of anything for the situation at hand. Ideally, I'd say we need at least 10 people total interested in giving it a go.
