The admin team are happy to present an entirely new world dedicated for building: Epsilon. Epsilon is a void world, with absolutely nothing in it. While many maps like to be grounded in the world, with terrain stretching to the horizon, other maps stylistically prefer to be the only thing you can see. Previously this would require laboriously deleting huge chunks of the world. As well, if we ever decide to expand the view distance, this can bring ugly cutoff terrain into view. To solve all of these problems, we've added a new world that is completely empty.
Epsilon comes in three flavours: Epsilon (an overworld dimension), Epsilon_nether, and Epsilon_the_end. You can access them with the following commands:
/warp tp epsilon
/warp tp epsilon_nether
/warp tp epsilon_the_end
Like Theta, you need to be Greenie+ to access Epsilon.
Unlike Theta, there's no conceivable chance of a whitie escaping a map and making their way to Theta spawn, so we don't need to put creative signs inside a bedrock box. In Epsilon, you'll be put into creative immediately upon teleporting into spawn.
How is Epsilon different from Theta?
Theta and Epsilon are two siblings. They are both treated exactly the same way. Any rules that apply to Theta also apply to Epsilon and vice versa. Your inventory is also shared between Theta and Epsilon.
How do I start building in Epsilon?
Conceptually it's the same as Theta: find a place and start building, then we can protect it later. However, since there are absolutely no blocks anywhere outside of Epsilon spawn, you'll need to have a platform bootstrapped for you. At Epsilon spawn there is a button that will place a glass block for you at your desired unprotected location. You can use that to build out a platform for you to work on. You can find the button and further instructions on how to use it on the white star inside Epsilon spawn.
How big is the world border?
±6,000 blocks.
What biomes are available?
By default, Epsilon is entirely The Void. However, you can use WorldEdit to change the biome locally to get a different skybox / grass colour / etc. You can also get the Nether fog and the End void sky by building in Epsilon_nether / Epsilon_the_end respectively.
Will Epsilon also be available on Test?
Yes, Test mirrors all of the worlds of Zero.
Thanks to ManWithRaft for the teaser video.
